  • Today you’ll board a charter flight to Camp Hwange, located on a private concession bordering Hwange National Park.

After settling into camp, enjoy your first afternoon game drive , focusing on light, composition, and animal behaviour around the productive waterholes.

    Overnight: Camp Hwange (3 nights)

  • Spend two full days exploring the private concession around Camp Hwange. This area is renowned for elephant herds, lion, wild dog, and excellent birdlife.

With fewer vehicles and flexible guiding, you’ll have extended time at sightings, ideal for photography and behavioural sequences.

    Activities include:

    • Morning and afternoon game drives

    • Hide photography at waterholes

    • Optional image reviews and tuition sessions

  • After a final morning activity, transfer by charter flight to Wilderness Linkwasha, located in the south-eastern region of Hwange.

Linkwasha is famous for its water-level photographic hides, allowing you to shoot eye-level images of elephants, buffalo, and plains game as they drink at close range.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive and sunset photography at the floodlit waterhole.

    Overnight: Wilderness Linkwasha (2 nights)

  • A full day to explore the Linkwasha area, combining game drives with time in the hides. This region is particularly strong for lion, hyena, and large elephant herds during the dry season.

    Focus on:

    • Low-angle hide photography

    • Behavioural and storytelling images

    • Light management at waterholes

  • After breakfast, board your charter flight back to Victoria Falls and transfer to Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

The afternoon is free to relax or enjoy the lodge’s famous viewing deck overlooking the waterhole.

This curated package combines wildlife, landscapes, and adventure, giving you the chance to experience Victoria Falls and the surrounding region from multiple perspectives — on the river, from the air, and on safari.

    Our recommended Adventure Package includes:

    • “Flight of the Angels” Helicopter Flight over Victoria Falls, 13 minute flight.

    • Sunrise Zambezi River Cruise – ideal for bird photography, soft morning light, and river scenes

    • Chobe Day Trip – combining both land-based and water-based safari photography in Botswana’s famous Chobe National Park

These three experiences form our core Adventure Package and can be added to your safari at an additional cost of US$440.00 per person.

Note, this package does not include a professional photo host. It is an additional add on whereby you can take what you have learnt during the scheduled photo safari and put these new skills into practice.

This seven-night Zimbabwe photographic safari begins and ends in Victoria Falls, with charter flights linking three exceptional locations. The journey starts with three nights at Camp Hwange on a private concession, followed by two nights at Wilderness Linkwasha, famous for its water-level hides and floodlit waterholes.

The safari concludes with two nights at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, including guided experiences at the Falls and on the Zambezi River.

This itinerary has been carefully timed for late August, one of the best months for wildlife concentrations, dry-season visibility, and predator activity in Hwange.

Andrew Macdonald offers curated photographic safaris for those seeking deeper, more meaningful wildlife experiences. These journeys are crafted for photographers who value quality over quantity, where time in the field is unhurried, access is considered, and every location is chosen with purpose. With an emphasis on light, composition, and animal behaviour, guests are guided through each sighting with a refined, hands-on approach designed to elevate both their imagery and their understanding of the wild.
